**Description** **POSITION: Safety Manager** **DEPARTMENT:** Occupational Health & Safety **LOCATION:** Hyrum, UT **QUALIFICATIONS:** + B.S. Safety Engineering or related field preferred + Minimum 4 years experience in safety, preferably within food processing industry. + Above average skills in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) + Strong written, verbal, analytical, persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management + Training in CPR and first-aid preferred + Detail oriented and strong multi-tasking skills **RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Maintains Compliance Programs, files and records in accordance with company and government regulations. + Responsible for, and makes recommendations for, compliance with federal and state regulations + Promotes and encourages participation in safety, health, and environmental programs; may need to aid in training Authorized (qualified) and Affected Safety classes + Inspects all operations being performed on a daily basis; such as, production, plant maintenance, and storage of material, for compliance with company standards + Assists supervisors with investigations on injury accidents and near miss incidents during corresponding shift and reports findings to Safety Manager + Writes reports implementing safety programs, trains employees, inspects facility for adequate fire protection, and ensures that all equipment is in good working condition,conducts spot checks (verifications) on Supervisor PPE inspections + May be asked to escort employees of all agencies conducting safety, fire, and physical security audits of the facility. **EOE/M/F/VET/DISABLED**
