Summary You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH, AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. SALARY: GS-07: $52,158 - $67,809 GS-09: $63,800 - $82,938 Responsibilities You will perform Occupational Safety and Health Program oversight functions to ensure effective and efficient implementation of Occupational Safety and Health standards and regulations. You will identify the need for, and assist in the procurement and maintenance of equipment needed to support Occupational Safety and Health monitoring of work sites. You will make surveillances of any industrial work performed in the shipyard by employees, contractors, or other support agencies. You will coordinate performance of required inspections, checkpoints, or audits to meet regulatory requirements and ensure that work can be safely executed in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and regulations. You will conduct mishap investigations in accordance with Navy mishap investigation and reporting procedures. You will manage the medical surveillance program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing safety and occupational health principles and practices by planning and carrying out a safety and occupational health program to ensure workplace safety of shipyard operations. FOR GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying safety and occupational health principles and practices by carrying out safety and occupational health program to ensure workplace safety.
