Safety Representative ($23.30 - $36.10 DOE)
**Description** **Essential Duties** · Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures · Review all facility assessments for scoring and gap analysis · Perform safety facility inspections every quarter – Admin, dock, yard, and shops · Prepare quarterly/annual reports · Work with local agencies dealing with safety and security issues · Assist Company Representative with any OSHA inspections and ensure completion of issues requiring correction. · Generate HSSE Alerts, lessons learned, and corrective actions · Participate and/or lead safety toolbox meetings · Conduct BBS Observations and promote stop-work authority and near-miss reports · Be available and support special projects for the safety and compliance team · Assist with the development of new procedures - SOPs · Assist with emergency response fire drills and safety stand-downs · Perform accident/injury/near miss investigations documenting the results in Origami · Assist/support in audits – DOT/OSHA/Insurance/Customer/Environmental · Support regulatory compliance duties as needed · Encourage the development and support of local Safety and Leadership Teams to be active members of SALT · Encourage Near Miss, Stop Work, and BBS reporting · Work with terminal managers on special safety-related projects and Safety Blitz · Ensure safety protocols are being followed · Respond to emergencies, injuries, and accidents · Work with Safety and Compliance team members, attending team meetings and training · Collaborate on OSHA statistics · Collaborate on building safety programs · Manage PPE for the designated terminal · Perform other duties as assigned **Qualifications** · A valid driver’s license is required · Three years of related experience required · Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety or associated field experience is preferred · Experience in the transportation/trucking industry preferred · Be familiar with or have knowledge of operational equipment including but not limited to forklifts, yard goats, loaders, trucks, and trailers **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** · Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills · Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting deadlines · Demonstrated attention to detail and work in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner · Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated as well as a team player · Must be able to prioritize daily tasks and assignments · Must be able to adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner · Working knowledge of DOT regulations · Working knowledge of regulatory agencies (OSHA/WISHA) and regulations affecting the trucking and transportation industry · High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information · Proficient using MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills **Leadership Competencies** · Respect: Treats people with respect and is humble and approachable.
