Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part-Time Security Intern at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena. We are seeking a unique Part-Time Security Intern to join our Security team. Interns are expected to work a minimum of twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) hours per week with up to a 1-year commitment and must be currently enrolled in at minimum of a 2-to-4-year program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include assisting with the following:
Review of Emergency Response Procedures and resources.
Incident Action Plan preparation and documentation.
Tabletop Exercises or drills (as available).
Perform event related risk, threat, and/or vulnerability assessments.
Incident tracking software and databases.
Incident reporting, documentation, and trend analysis.
Integrated Operating Center operations.
Social media monitoring during events.
Severe weather monitoring and communication.
Training documentation and record keeping.
Bid proposals and RFP documentation (as available).
Environmental, Health and Safety Program reviews and documentation.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Enrollment in a two- or four-year program at an accredited college or university with a focus in Security or Safety (i.e. Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, etc.).
Previous Public Relations experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Technical writing experience is not required, but preferred.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
Work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to reach deadlines and work quickly and efficiently.
Computer Skills
Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using Outlook, MS Windows/MAC, Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint, Security Based Systems.
Being Internet savvy is required.
Other Qualifications
Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
