Safety & Security Management Officer (FT- 1 FTE, Day Shift)
Position Summary: The Safety & Security Program Management Officer is responsible for assisting with planning, directing, organizing, monitoring, and training to create a culture of safety excellence and safeguarding compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, CMS, OSHA, DNV, and other regulatory bodies. This comprises implementing effective safety programs and protocols and ensuring the availability and usability of safety equipment. This position responds to employee safety concerns, provides guidance and support in resolving issues, and improves overall safety performance. Overseeing the Safety and Security Management program is a large portion of the role. Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. + Three (3) years of experience in a safety-related role. Preferred + Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification, or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). + Three (3) years of experience in a safety-related role in a healthcare environment. Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. + Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with local laws and regulations. + Develop, implement, and maintain strategies, plans, and procedures to protect employees, property, and facilities from workplace health and safety hazards. + Perform routine Security Vulnerability Assessments across all the facilities within the organization + Assess workplace hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them. + Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with established safety protocols. + Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. + Provide regular safety training sessions and organize impactful safety campaigns to promote awareness. + Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters. + Stay updated about emerging safety trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement. + Manage the Hazardous Waste program in partnership with Environmental Services. Maintain records and training for Waste Manifests and DOT training. + Ensuring the highest safety compliance standards and a healthy work setting for staff, visitors and vendors. + Monitoring and staying updated on safety regulations, codes and standards applicable to the industry. + Supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing evacuation plans and procedures. All in partnership with the Emergency Operations Coordinator. + Supporting and helping co-lead the Emergency Operations Committee and Security Committee. + Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to determine root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent a recurrence. + Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations. + Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with external organizations, such as government bodies, safety organizations, and insurance companies. + Partner with the Emergency Operations Coordinator to collaborate with community emergency response and law enforcement to build and grow relationships. + Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents and training.
