Your Responsibilities
As a safety intern, you will lead/participate in 2-3 key projects as well as participate in day-to-day activities such as safety audits, risk assessments, ergonomic reviews, incident investigations, and the development and delivery of safety presentations and training. You will be provided meaningful assignments that will require analysis and interpretation of data and regulations, with an emphasis on shop-floor activities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and communicate results to the appropriate groups for awareness and action. You will work under the direction of a more senior occupational health and safety professional to compile necessary documentation and correspondence to comply with regulatory standards, John Deere standards, and Health and Safety Management System requirements.
What Skills You Need:
Freshman, sophomore, or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree or senior pursuing a master’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. Must be able to relocate domestically. Assignments can be at various locations throughout the United States.
