Overview:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting the safety and health processes within the localorganization. This individual will assist the safety manager in leading the safety and health effortswithin the plant. The position of Safety Supervisor reports directly to the Safety Manager and hasthe responsibility to assist in the implementation and evaluation of critical safety processes,programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related tocompliance as well as injury reduction.
Responsibilities / Duties
Core Competencies
One to three years of occupational safety and health experience in industrial operations Knowledgeable of federal, state (Louisiana) and local regulations as well as relevantconsensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA). Knowledge of Behavioral Safety Auditing techniques. Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis education or experience. Ability to coach and train employees. Proficient with Microsoft Office (to include but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook). Strong organization skills, including attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and prioritizeprojects. Iinterpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and reach agreement with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an accrediteduniversity or college strongly preferred
