Day-to-day duties

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the safety team. Manage and analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Use Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams) to create reports, presentations, and documentation. Collaborate with management and the wider team to implement and maintain safety initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Proactively support the identifying and resolution of safety-related issues through data management and timeous communication. Efficiently organise and maintain both physical and digital files to ensure easy access and retrieval of important documents. Professionally handle incoming calls, providing accurate information and directing calls to the appropriate team members. Manage and prioritise emails, ensuring timely responses and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential skills and experience

Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a safety or compliance environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Detail-oriented and organised with the ability to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Able to work independently, take the initiative to solve problems and complete tasks without supervision. Able to work well within a team and offer support and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Proactive in finding solutions to challenges and committed to continuous improvement. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages. Comfortable taking charge and able to provide valuable support to the management structure and assist with various administrative tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly. Natural ability to influence and persuade others, making you effective in gaining support and driving initiatives forward. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude are contagious, helping to motivate and inspire your colleagues. Enjoy interacting with others and building strong relationships, which is essential for effective teamwork and collaboration. Confident in making quick decisions and taking action to achieve goals, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently.
