Title: Safety Technician Location: Little Rock AR Duration-12 Month Pay Range: $18-$19/hr Responsibilities : + Routine Safety Systems Inspection and Repair to include but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Exit Signs, Smoke/Heat Detectors, UST Monitoring Wells, Eyewashes, Safety Showers, and other Building Devices; + Fire Systems Maintenance and Inspection; + Lamp Recycling; + Safety/General Equipment Inspection; + Animal Control; + Miscellaneous Trouble Calls/Fire Alarm Responses; + Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : + Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment; + Ability to localize and repair mechanical or electrical problems; + Ability to test and monitor equipment functions; + Skill in performing fabrication work; + Must have basic computer skills and some experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access; + Ability to perform routine building, emergency safety, and fires systems inspections; + Ability to use, operate, and maintain electrical tools and machinery; + Must be able to follow instructions; + Must be able to negotiate various types of terrain (such as slopes, steps, ditches, creek banks, brush and weedy areas, rocky and rough areas or muddy and/or wet areas); + Must be able to use/operate tools and equipment for extended periods; + Must be able to climb ladders and other access equipment to roofs and other areas to repair, inspect, and maintain building systems; + Must be able to load or unload a truck (weights varying at 60 lbs. or more); + Must be able to start, hold, use and operate hand tools and power equipment; + Ability to operate various equipment with hand/foot control. Required Education &/or Experience : + The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; + Two years of specialized training in electronics or related field.
