Position Summary This position provides support for the Chemical Safety Team within the Office of Environmental Health and Safety by: + Scheduling and performing fume hood and local exhaust ventilation testing and certification in a timely manner + Recording results of certifications in database accurately and completely + Upholding professional and privacy requirements when working in sensitive research areas + Identifying potential non-conformities in HVAC systems and reporting promptly to supervisor + Maintaining and calibrating industrial hygiene equipment; recording results of equipment calibrations in a timely manner + Responding to and fulfilling customer requests for supplemental safety materials; other duties as assigned by supervisor Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a four-year college degree; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in HVAC, environmental sciences, healthcare or laboratory quality assurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications Aptitude and proficiency in repairing and maintaining scientific equipment; broad foundation in physical or life sciences.
