Job Summary As a Sales Account Manager at Mastec you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding our presence in the electric distribution and gas distribution construction market. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders. Your focus will be on understanding our clients' current and future needs, providing tailored solutions, and staying ahead of market trends to offer valuable insights and opportunities. This role requires proactive engagement in business development, strategic relationship management, and a keen understanding of the electric distribution and construction industry. Responsibilities Relationship Building & Client Engagement: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and influencers within client organizations. Regularly communicate with clients to understand their evolving needs, challenges, and opportunities. Act as the main point of contact, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and trust. Business Development & Sales Strategy: Identify new business opportunities by understanding industry trends, client projects, and upcoming needs within the electric distribution construction sector. Develop and implement strategic account plans to meet or exceed sales targets and grow revenue within assigned accounts. Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals and deliver presentations that demonstrate the value of our services. Market & Industry Insights: Stay informed on industry developments, market conditions, and competitors to proactively address client needs and position our company as a leader in the industry. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build industry relationships and gather market intelligence. Proposal Development & Negotiation: Work closely with the procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate preparation of bids, proposals, and contracts. Lead the negotiation process, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements for both the company and the client. Client Account Management & Reporting: Manage day-to-day client interactions, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and key developments. Track and report on sales metrics, client feedback, and market conditions to senior leadership for continuous improvement and strategic planning. Qualifications Minimum Proven experience as a Sales Account Manager or similar role in the electric distribution, construction, or utilities industry. Strong knowledge of the electric distribution construction market, including key players, industry challenges, and opportunities. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with senior decision-makers, procurement teams, and technical professionals. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and anticipate client needs. Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player. Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events. Preferred Bachelor's degree in marketing or business. 4 or more years of business development experience. 2 or more years of supervisory experience.
