Positions: Sales Agronomist
Location: California – Central Valley (could be anywhere from Stockton to Lompoc)
International company with focus on providing nutrition into the soil / at the root, is recruiting a Sales Agronomist. (Familiar with citrus and blueberry crops a plus)
The company has a science-based plant and soil service offering. These services provide a valuable synergy between crop performance and technology to farmers. The solution includes a cloud-based data platform that supports informed decision making.
This role’s main purpose is to identify the needs of clients and recommend potential solutions utilizing the company’s technology, services and/or products. They will support and promote their clients business and growth
Responsibilities
Advise client on plant nutrition to optimize yield Provide technical recommendations to customers based on various analyses Identify and implement business opportunities to grow company’s market share Build and maintain relationships with customers through regular on-site visits Market and sell products and services Secure repeat business Establish and position yourself as a strategic and trusted partner Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and industry stakeholders. Gaining extensive knowledge relating to the use and application of the company’s products within a specific geographic location and crop types Participating in industry associations, trade shows, and conferences Conducting research and development to facilitate continuous product improvement Performing field trials Compile sales budgets and meeting those budgets Maintaining financial and administrative records
Experience / Background
BS or AS Agronomy or Related degree Agronomist with customer references in the Central Valley Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) or Pest Control Advisor (PCA) 3-5 years in plant health or nutrition Experience with precision agriculture, soil science, plant nutrition Passionate about Agriculture Solid verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team environment as well as on your own Ability to market and sell products and services
