Position Summary:
As the Sales Director for our Reagent Solutions and Assay Reagents business lead for Bio-Techne based in Tokyo in our headquarters of Japan as part of our Asia Pacific Regional business (APAC). You will be primarily responsible for building a collaborative and high performing commercial team that is driving the growth of the Bio-Techne various business areas through our Distribution network and key partners in Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and motivate your sales and technical organization that represents various brands in both our reagent and assay business units to achieve sales and profitability targets aligned to portfolio growth requirement.
Demonstrate leadership by example - coach and mentor your team to help them in their development and the development of their distribution partners.
Actively manage clearly defined strategies, tactics and lead metrics that support the goal of growth and profitability.
Lead your team on the creation of clear and concise business plans and regularly review key milestones, actions and targets are met on time and ensure that plans play a part of the daily routine of the team.
Drive customer and distributor focused account planning and ensure processes are in place and understood to enable effective and productive account plans that support customer needs and enable Bio-Techne to achieve its revenue objectives.
Conduct regular 1-2-1 reviews with your team to understand progress, forecasting and personal development needs for them and any reports if applicable.
Spend a significant amount of time in customer and distribution meetings with your team and for your directly with key distributors to understand opportunities and gaps.
Conduct senior level customer meetings as part of key account plans and talk fluently about the Bio-Techne organization and identify opportunities for greater collaboration and growth within these key strategic accounts. Proactively involve our Executive Operational Committee (EOC) members within these accounts to align and form true partnership working initiatives working with the highest levels in our company.
Run regular team meetings and lead team discussions to drive engagement and foster an environment were giving and receiving feedback is expected.
Champion account management, pro-active sales modelling and support your sales team to accept change as a constant requirement for a fast-growing business in partnership with your distribution teams to provide information and trust that enable a deep and mutually beneficial relationship with them.
Key Duties:
Responsible for achievement of regional sales budget.
Building and implementing sales processes focused on driving revenue growth.
Able to articulate forecasting projections.
Able to talk fluently with senior level customers and distributors about the Bio-Techne organization and to identify opportunities for greater collaboration and growth within key strategic accounts.
Responsible for the engagement and work assignment of the sales and support teams within the region.
Ensuring compliance and buy-in of SFDC to drive disciplined and structured approaches to all aspects of CRM and opportunity management recording.
Clearly understand and articulate the development needs of your team and manage their progression through the sales and technical competency model to increase their effectiveness in their current role and to create effective succession plans.
Own the role of performance management within the team.
Champion and own team compliance to Bio-Techne code of ethics.
Foster a culture that embraces EPIC and the principle of change as a necessity for success.
Focus on and measure the key success metrics reviewed with the leader of APAC.
Call management when appropriate in both sales and business development, i.e. distribution network to improve and maximize every customer and business interaction.
Opportunity management - Initiate, qualify, progress, close opportunities.
Account management - Maximize customer potential, build relationships that deliver.
Territory management - Right; customers, message, offering, expectation.
Enable your sales team - Give the sales team the chance to succeed.
Minimum Requirements:
Multiple year experience in reagents and consumables in the Life Science Market.
Experience in the Distribution Network established in the Japanese Market.
Scientific Background would be ideal.
Leadership experience with previous direct reports for five years or more.
Technical acumen with a Sales Experience background would be ideal.
