The Sales Engineer serves as an important part of Staples’ go-to-market strategy, working with new customers to ensure a positive onboarding experience, build programs and craft solutions designed to meet their needs, and serve as a subject matter expert and support resource for our business development organization.
Lead onboarding effort for large, newly-won customers in partnership with business development counterpartsExecute implementations in accordance with Staples’ onboarding playbook, leveraging strong project management skills to ensure timely execution of all tasks, both those to be performed by the Sales Engineer or by cross-functional stakeholdersDrive internal and customer-facing project calls, interacting with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a successful implementationServe as the primary support resource to business developers to coordinate non-selling & support activities that arise during the course of an implementationServes as subject matter expert on Staples’ program & eCommerce offerings and capabilities to build customer programs, using understanding of customer needs to craft simple, scalable program solutionsDrive customer needs discovery and program & support requirements gathering in tandem with Staples’ business development teamMonitors win ramp and coordinates win/ramp activities post-implementation in partnership with sales counterparts to ensure customer ramps to forecasted revenue and profitabilityWhat You Bring to the Table
Experience in Sales or Project ManagementExcellent organization skills, written and verbal communications, and an attention to detailAbility to interact with key contacts at Director/VP level at large, enterprise customersQualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 2 years in Sales or Project ManagementExperience working with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access)Ability to travel on demandPreferred Qualifications
