Sales Engineer

We are currently looking for a Sales Engineer to join us at our facility in Lummen, Belgium.

The role focuses on achieving sales targets, maintaining profitability, and growing market share through customer relationship management and lead generation. Responsibilities include market analysis, competitor monitoring, and participation in industry events to identify new opportunities and strengthen Axalta’s presence. The position also involves providing technical support by troubleshooting coating line issues, conducting customer audits, and overseeing product qualification trials.

Key responsibilities:

Achieve sales volume, value, and gross margin targets for the assigned region while improving profitability.Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to maximize sales opportunities and increase market share.Gather market intelligence and identify new business opportunities in alignment with company strategies.Ensure efficient targeting of qualified leads, leveraging internal sales resources for optimal acquisition costs.Present Axalta’s coating solutions to customers, highlighting the company’s value proposition.Monitor competition, evaluate market trends, and contribute to strategy discussions with internal teams.Participate in industry events, trade shows, and associations to strengthen market presence.Conduct customer project qualification trials, troubleshooting, and technical support to resolve coating line issues.Perform customer line audits, provide improvement recommendations, and continuously enhance technical expertise.Ability to identify and troubleshoot coating defects, ensuring proper application and performance.

Key requirements:

At least 2 years of sales experience in the paint or coatings industry, specifications or any other technical fields, with knowledge of sales processes and strategy execution.Strong technical knowledge in coatings or related fields (chemistry, spare parts, general industrial, automotive, etc), with a willinginess to learn about application processes, surface preparation, formulations, curing, and quality control.Willingness to travel up to 80% (domestic, with rare international trips). Driving license is a must (company car will be provided).Fluent language skills in English and Flemish is a must. French speaking skills would be ideal.Ideally, proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office, with a willingness to adopt new digital solutions.Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences.
