The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, collaborating with clients to provide tailored building automation solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through technical support and project coordination. Responsibilities + Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, and attending industry events. + Collaborate with clients to understand their building automation needs and recommend tailored solutions. + Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process, including product demonstrations and system design. + Develop and present customized proposals that align with client requirements and deliver value. + Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure smooth project handoff and adherence to technical specifications. + Maintain strong client relationships by providing ongoing technical support and ensuring satisfaction with products and services. + Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in building automation solutions. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE). + Related Associate's Degree. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, mechanical drawings, and schematics. + Desire for a long-term career path in sales. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, VAVs, FCUs, UVs, etc. + Experience with electrical and mechanical drawings, bill of materials, and sales engineering. Work Environment The Sales Engineer will primarily work from the office, with occasional travel to client sites throughout the week. The role offers potential for upward mobility within the sales division or more senior roles in applications. The position is part of a larger organization that provides flexibility for consultants to find the best team fit. The core of our business involves design/build, new construction, and retrofitting with a focus on controls. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
