Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Informa Connect’s Buildings & Construction Group. A dynamic position has arisen for a full-time Sales Executive to join the successful and growing BUILDEX team. BUILDEX events are Western Canada’s largest business-to business (B2B) events connecting the whole building industry. Attendees join our events to network, learn and discover the newest innovations from a market in constant transformation. Every year, our events enable hundreds of companies to showcase new, innovative products and technologies across more than 50 different industry categories to the entire spectrum of building design, construction, and real estate management professionals.

Serving as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for selling show floor exhibition space and sponsorships for in-person and digital media opportunities from the BUILDEX brand. In addition, you will take an active role in building and managing relationships with the professional communities we serve, engaging with sponsors, industry stakeholders and partners from across the built environment.

The successful applicant will help support the continued growth and commercial success of a thriving BUILDEX brand while working directly with senior level leadership. Job Responsibilities

Own the entire sales cycle, including generating, qualifying & developing leads to negotiating and closing opportunities.Meet the defined sales targets for each assigned BUILDEX Show.Prepare appropriate proposals and close sales in both exhibit space and sponsorships.Sell and manage accounts ranging from international manufacturers and service providers to local SMEs and start-ups.Maintain regular contact with your account base and increase revenue by introducing new and existing opportunities.Prospect new clients by approaching leads researched from industry sources (including industry associations, company directories, and existing databases), incoming leadsAttending regional trade shows/conferences and visiting potential clients in person whenever possible.Utilize Salesforce to track leads, monitor the progression of sales and collate client data.Have a clear understanding of the show and all opportunities offered, working closely with the VP Sales and Event Director to come up with strategies and opportunities to sell new and existing business. Ensure all clients’ needs and expectations are met in a timely manner. Contact with clients is required from time to time.Work closely with administrative & operations teams to assist with overall programming, marketing, and delivery.

QualificationsMinimum of 2 years in a sales role or environmentPrevious sales experience in a B2B environment is preferred.Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.A variety of sales techniques ranging from telephone, email, face-to-face, and social media.Strong phone presence and ability to make a requested target number of calls per day.Possess a professional and friendly attitude and ability to quickly develop a rapport with customers.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Ability to work after hours, attend industry events, and travel as needed, particularly around show dates.Ability to think strategically, understand client needs and creatively translate these needs into compelling sponsorships and special programs.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.   Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.Must be proficient in MS Office and ability to use a CRM such as Salesforce (preferred)

Compensation:

Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 CAD, plus commission.Job posting closes on 6th March, 2025.
