Sales Intern

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment.  Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. This project is to improve on our current process or to establish a new process of evaluating and ranking our current external customers based on sales metrics, such as pricing performance versus established premiums and sales volume versus contracted volume.  Information gathered during this project will be used to evaluate current customers to determine which of our external customers can be thought of as a strategic partner that we should grow business with, and which customers are transactional only. Additional assignments will include managing daily market pricing data and communication of this data to the sales team.

Primary Project

•Work/Meet with representatives from other departments across the organization.
•Review current account rankings, system, information and understand where we are and where the goal is to get to.
•Spend time in various departments to understand the business and apply this information to this project.
•Participate in numerous meetings with other team members to calculate the percentages we should weigh each item for the total customer evaluation. 
•Analyze data and make recommendations on systems and ranking changes.
•Manage this project as if you were the one using it to sell for Mountaire.  
•Spend time learning about the ranking process, procedures, in other parts of our business.   
•Presentation of project scope and findings at the end of the summer to Sales and corporate management

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Completes assigned tasks identified by department mentor. Attends semi-monthly seminar series. Completes and presents summer project presentation. Completes internship evaluations at weeks 5 and 10. Follows all company safety policies, standard operating procedure (SOP) regulations, as well as supports the Goal Zero mission statement.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. Valid Driver's license. Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.  Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The individual needs to be self-motivated, detail oriented, and accepting of challenges.                                                                                                                     Outgoing with a positive attitude, willingness to ask questions, learn, and engage with all sales team members. Preference will be giving to students pursuing a sales, supply chain, analytical or related degree.
