Sales Learning & Development Manager, Global Conferences

The Sales Learning and Development Manager plays a critical role in Gartner’s Conference Sales Learning and Development organization through delivering world class onboarding, training, and continuous learning to new and tenured sales executives across multiple sales channels directly supporting Gartner’s top priority of increasing sales productivity. This role will directly support CAS, with some support in GES and Evanta.

What you’ll do:

A critical component of the Conferences Sales Learning and Development strategy is to create a global sales onboarding and management curriculum and to deliver upon the priorities of the current corporate strategy, including:

Directly support Gartner’s top priority of increasing sales productivity through world class onboarding of conference sales new hires.

Develop, implement, and administer learning and development programs for sales associates that address three audiences: New Hire and Tenured Sales Executives.

Planning, development, delivery and facilitation of all current instructor-led programs, and certification for any future additions to the delivery curriculum.

Assist in the on-going development and refinement of the Conference sales learning curricula that include:

Assimilation and on-boarding

Selling Skills

Sales Process

Business acumen

Interpersonal Skills

Design, deploy or acquire new and innovative training programs for the sales organization.

Participate and project manage highly complex training projects such as: the development and delivery of new training curriculum, simulations, global workshops, and case studies.

Work with the team to continually gather information, feedback, and input from the global Conference sales organization to provide insight and ideas to the content curriculum development team.

What you’ll need:

Requires a successful a top performing Gartner Conference Sales Executive or Gartner Sales Manager or with outstanding track record of results (i.e.: Eagle, Winner Circle achievements), who possess a high degree of credibility with both sales leaders and peers.

In-depth knowledge of and experience with the Gartner Conference sales process including, account planning, opportunity planning, managing to the Gartner Conference sales phases and effective pipeline management.

Extensive knowledge of Gartner Conference capabilities, as well as the value proposition.

Ability to evaluate and facilitate effective solutions for the Sales organization’s development needs.

High level of communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of employees on various subject matters and to convey knowledge and ideas in a logical and compelling manner to others.

Requires the successful experience of using Gartner’s sales methodology and Pathway to Gold in everyday client and internal communications. Candidate will be able to demonstrate their extensive understanding and use of this sales methodology.

Ability to enable our sales teams to grow our business across many product lines through effective and results-focused training.

Ability to motivate, influence and coach individuals who do not have a direct reporting relationship to you.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 106,000 USD - 145,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
