Sales Manager, Assistant Vice President

Who we are looking for

Looking for a new career and interested in the world of sales and business development? Working with some of Australias leading Superannuation funds and Asset Managers.  We are looking for an enthusiastic sales manager to join our sales team based in Sydney.

You will primarily be responsible for supporting the sales team and working closely with the sales team on sales opportunities while gradually moving into managing your own pipeline of new business opportunities. This is a pivotal role in helping to grow State Street’s presence and market share in Australia across its key client segments and meeting given sales targets.

What you will be responsible for

This role requires you to effectively support in managing and building new client relationships, research new opportunities, initiate discussions, manage the sales process include pitch book material and broader presentation material and work with the broader sales team to close deals that generate new revenue. Primary clients and prospects will be asset manager, asset owners, insurance and alternative

In this role the candidate needs demonstrate capability for managing to stringent deadlines, have familiarity with core business activities and to collaborate across the business driving client engagement & solutions. Additionally, an annual sale target will accompany this junior role with full support from the broader sales team in developing the skills and market profile to attain these annual goals.

New Business Sales

Contribute to deliver annual sales and revenue targets by work with senior members of the team in building and executing sales strategies

Actively work with the sales team and independently in sourcing and winning new business opportunities

Lead and support role in the completion of RFP’s and take-on of new clients

Successfully partner with a virtual team of executives and subject matter experts through all aspects of a long and detailed sales cycle

Proactively build/drive pipeline volume, accelerate sales cycle, actively manage to close with sales

Represent State Street at relevant industry events and conferences

Financial Management

Identify potential revenue opportunities with prospective clients, existing group relationships, including cross-selling of value added services and products across State Streets lines of business

Negotiate and establish fee structures

 Change Management

Facilitate and implement change / initiatives within State Street, locally, regionally and globally

Active contributions to management team decisions and initiatives, business planning and goal setting

Actively participate in industry affairs and keep up to date on legislative requirements and standards

Be acutely aware of the changing market and impact on existing and potential client base

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

Experience in financial services industry with knowledge of investor servicing/custodian services, or superannuation or asset management businesses

Experience in sales/relationship management role or desire to expand into a sales role with relevant industry experience and knowledge

Demonstrate the ability to analyse a problem, obtain and evaluate information, and reach sound conclusions

Strong communication and client facing skills, presenting with a high level of professionalism

Strong time management and presentation skills

Demonstrated track record of achieving/exceeding goals

Enthusiastic, driven, curious with a passion to learn and grow into a senior sales executive

Education & Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

5 + experience in financial services industry with knowledge of investor servicing/custodian services or 5+ years in sales/relationship management role in financial services industry
