Sales Manager – Defined Contribution

Fantastic opportunity to join the team with responsibility for increasing DC assets under management by establishing and building new selling opportunities for SEI’s Master Trust solution within the UK market through consultants, trustees, sponsors and other third parties

What you will do:

Work with the Head of Defined Contribution to achieve and deliver on DC sales targets and objectives.

The management of existing relationships and the development of new relationships with consultants involved in DC consulting, DC investment consulting and Master Trust provider selection.

Identification and execution of a sales strategy on each deal, including identifying key decision makers, key decision criteria and structuring the delivery and messaging of SEI’s proposal to close new business

Managing the pitch process to win new business, including working with team members to develop and deliver compelling proposals

The development of new relationships with trustees and plan sponsors of DC schemes

The development of relationships with other consultants and third parties that are potential sources of DC leads or referrals for SEI

Manage responses to DC related questionnaires and RFPs with the assistance of the DC RFP team

Qualify opportunities to ensure tight alignment with SEI’s DC and global sales strategy

Lead prospective clients and/or their consultants through the sales process which includes a business discovery initiative to best understand the needs of the firm and SEI’s ability to deliver DC solutions to support those needs.

Lead and/or support the production of material to support the sales process through to final pitch. 

Ensure smooth transition of the prospect relationship to the relationship team once the contracted relationship has been finalised.

Keep current on market conditions, regulation, SEI products and services, etc;

Adhere to all relevant FCA requirements and compliance; and

Any other ad-hoc projects as required.

Employees will maintain a good understanding of  applicable policies, procedures, risk appetites and tolerance relevant to their function and or business unit, and are expected to consider current and potential risks when making or informing business decisions. Employees are responsible for the accurate and timely escalation and recording of incidents associated to relevant risks. In addition, employees are responsible for completing all required Risk Management training.

What we need from you:

Ability to navigate a complex buying process, including identifying key decision makers, and determining and executing winning proposals

Ability to demonstrate initiative and drive in establishing new DC relationships and managing and improving existing relationships.

Solid knowledge of the UK pensions market coupled with DC experience either from an investment, consulting or administration background.

Able to demonstrate experience of influencing within prospect organisations.

Proven ability and track record in maintaining a high level of activity to meet aggressive sales targets.

Degree educated (or equivalent) and further industry qualifications (IMC, CFA, etc.) would be advantageous.

A track record in business development, technical investment knowledge of a DC propositions and/or experience in managing relationships with third party consultants would be advantageous.

Committed to / interest in developing a career path within business development.

Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build solid working relationships and influence and persuade at senior level (internal and external)

Excellent organisation and project management skills

Decisive and results orientated

Attend networking and industry events in the pursuit of new DC lead generation opportunities

Provide market intelligence to the DC Team in order that the SEI proposition remains relevant.

Provide timely and up to date prospecting information such as call reports, presentations, business proposals and contract agreements via Salesforce

Ensure all the above efforts remain aligned to unit and SEI strategy

Proactively maintain/develop good knowledge of industry trends, market forces, regulatory changes and macro-economic forces impacting SEI’s target market in the UK.

It is essential that you hold or are working towards the following list of qualifications (or equivalent). If not, it is essential that you are willing to undertake and complete qualifications.

IMC

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Economics, Business, Maths, Accounting, Finance) or
Relevant Masters/MBA

CFA, ACA, ACCA, IAQ

FIA (Fellow of the Faculty & Institute of Actuaries)
