Sales Manager

This role will support 50/50 - Watsonville and Oxnard.

Partner with the site General Manager to run the business and maximize profitability. Expand the customer base, sell new business, and manage existing business within assigned warehouse or group of warehouses.

Position Overview:
As a Sales Manager, you will lead and empower a team to drive growth, develop strategic customer relationships, and meet sales targets within the market. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to implement effective sales strategies, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, and contribute to operational excellence. Your role will be key in achieving both local and global sales objectives while ensuring seamless coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales professionals, providing feedback, training, and clear goal-setting to maximize productivity and performance.

Sales Strategy & Execution:
Partner with the General Manager to create and implement targeted action plans aimed at generating new sales leads and expanding market opportunities.

Customer Relationship Management:
Build and nurture strong relationships with both local and global customers, maintaining a deep focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

Proposal & Quotation Development:
Prepare and present tailored proposals and rate quotes to prospective clients, addressing their unique business challenges and offering effective solutions.

Collaborative Sales Efforts:
Work closely with fellow Sales Managers and the Global Account team to promote the company’s full suite of services across the Lineage network.

Accounts Receivable Management:
Oversee the timely collection of outstanding accounts, ensuring cash flow and financial health.

Performance Tracking & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of pricing, sales activities, and performance metrics, and report regularly to senior management to ensure optimal profit margins.

Budget & Expense Management:
Manage sales-related budgets, ensuring that expenses are controlled and aligned with financial targets and organizational guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the General Manager and facility leadership team to drive operational efficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in sales processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and/or sales management, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.Strong background in Supplier Relationship Management, including prospecting, closing new business, and managing client relationships.In-depth knowledge of the company’s service offerings and the ability to leverage this expertise to create customized solutions for clients.Demonstrated experience in managing, training, and developing sales teams.Solid math and analytical skills to track sales performance and manage pricing strategies.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to deliver technical solutions in a clear, non-technical manner to diverse audiences.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, including as low as -20°F (-25°C) in cold storage or up to 100°F (37°C) in dry storage areas, while wearing provided protective equipment.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when necessary.Comfortable working in environments with variable noise levels, including loud areas.
