We are currently hiring an EU Sales Manager located at our Germany office!
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing our partner and retailer sales and profitability, while focusing on building relationships and gaining trust. The priority is prompt and accurate handling of the customer’s needs, ranging from processing orders to responding to a variety of questions. The Sales Manager will identify opportunities within our markets and then deliver products and solutions that maximize our sales and profitability goals. The Sales Manager will be trained on our Oracle system and must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. This position will interface with Sales Administration, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, and Shipping/Logistics. Most customer contact will take place via the phone and Internet, but some international and tradeshow travel will be required. As the front-line representative of Horizon, the Sales Manager exemplifies the Horizon Basics and Mission Statement
This role will report on-site 2 days a week to our Barsbüttel, Germany office.
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Knowledge: The Sales Manager must understand the complete business process in order to best service our customers. Respect for various cultures and working relationships is the key to success in this role. Mastery of the Oracle Sales functions and order processing is essential. The Sales Manager will secure and process purchase orders, coordinate shipping and delivery, and help with special needs. The Sales Manager needs to develop a understanding of R/C product knowledge.
Communication: Communication is extremely critical in this role, due to the different native languages spoken by our customers. The tone and composition of email, phone calls and other correspondence must be considered very carefully. The ability to listen and respond effectively is key. Communication and follow-up must be timely and complete. It is important to establish regular outbound contact with all our customers. Internal relationships between the Sales Manager, Customer Service, Credit, and Shipping/Logistics are also very important, so regular contact and teamwork is necessary to make our sales and service operate most efficiently.
Selling Skills: The Sales Manager will focus on account management. This includes product placement, new product launches, identifying opportunities, and prospecting for new accounts. Goals for Customer and product placement will be established.
Judgment: The Sales Manager must be able to make sound decisions in the best interest of Horizon and the customer. He/she must be able to know when to make the decision, and when to get others involved. The Sales Manager must be a self-starter, with the ability to work unsupervised or in teams.
Teamwork/Dependability: The Sales Manager has the ultimate accountability for all assigned accounts. It is imperative he/she knows how the job relates to other jobs in other departments, specifically Customer Service, Administration, Credit and Shipping/Logistics.
