About the Role

As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets. You and your team will engage with the customer in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive these opportunities with healthy commercials to award. The position of Sales Manager is part of a pursuits team in the Customer Group that supports Harman Strategic Business Units (SBU) projects and future automotive products for your customer.

What You Will Do

Build, maintain and drive the pursuit strategy for new business opportunities in alignment with the customer account management and business development.Identify and create new pursuits and drive early engagement activities including “war gaming” and 10 standardsOwn RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and be responsible for the quote as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customerCreate game-changing unique selling proposition and value statementsUnderstand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing) and define internal targets to meet themIdentify key stakeholders and decision makers and develop strategies to win new business

What You Need

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering7+ years of related sales experience with at least 3 years in AutomotiveMust have a thorough understanding of Automotive OEM’s organization and processesThorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases and quotes / contracts with automotive OEMsStrong hunting and negotiation skillsExperience developing and executing a selling strategy

What is Nice to Have

Master’s Degree in Business Management or EngineeringTechnical understanding of Automotive HW and SW systemsExperience within or working with applicable customers

What Makes You Eligible

Be willing to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travelBe willing to work in an office in Novi, MISuccessfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Salary Ranges:

$ 105,000 - $ 154,000
