The Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of the organization's Kansas City Region of the Commercial Paper Division. Sales will market the full line of the Commercial Paper’s products and services to current customers and non-customers. This position will be concerned with short term sales activity within an account as well as developing and implementing a longer-term strategy to ensure Novolex will retain the account and continue to obtain future business. Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers. Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining business.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Provide existing account coverage and development of new accounts. Achieve sales targets for new business sales and renewals Market full line of the Commercial Paper’s products, services and supplies in the Northeast Region. Develop appropriate strategies (short & long term) to suit business needs and requirements of customers and non-customers. Generate and maintain a credible forecast for accounts and territories and provide this information on a regular basis to Senior Management Develop and implement a strategy for customer field visits and contacts within planned sales and marketing campaigns Research customer needs and develop application of products in an effective manner by: determining market strategies & goals for each product, researching and developing lists of potential customers, following up on sales leads and developing leads Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends, establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales. Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by: developing sales and marketing proposals for customers, making presentations to customers. \n 3-5+ years’ experience in Sales and Sales support roles. Experience in the paper business a plus. Current and working knowledge of packaging sales preferred. College degree preferred. Must be familiar with the industry’s dynamics including: sales cycle timing, customer portfolio management, pricing sensitivities, and selling to end users via distribution. Direct support of new and existing relationships with both customers and suppliers is a must. Traveling to customer’s location (via car, or air).
