We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager - EPC & Project Sales to manage, lead, and expand our presence with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) & consulting Engineers across Canada. Reporting to the Country Head, Danfoss Drives, this role will focus on developing and nurturing relationships with EPC contractors, consulting engineering firms, and other project stakeholders, driving the sales of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and related systems for large-scale projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in generating new business opportunities, managing complex project sales, and enhancing Danfoss Drives visibility and specification in key vertical markets.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within EPC accounts and project-based markets in Canada. Build and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to capture EPC and project sales in growth markets such as mining, oil & gas, and heavy industry. Manage the entire sales process for large-scale VFD projects, from initial inquiry through to contract closure and project delivery. Provide technical consultation and product expertise to EPC contractors, consultants, and End-Users. Develop a robust sales pipeline, and provide regular reports, project opportunities, and forecasting to senior management. Lead negotiation efforts with clients and EPC contractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering; electrical engineering is preferred. 8+ years of work experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment and sales process. Strong understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and their applications in industrial settings. Willingness to travel regularly to meet with key clients and colleagues and attend conferences, including international customers and locations. Overall travel expectation is at least 50%
Preferred Skills and Capabilities:
Proven track record in driving project sales and managing relationships with EPC contractors, consulting engineers, and other stakeholders. Experience with direct sales through EPCs/End Users and indirect sales through independent partner networks. Background supporting long-term sales cycles of variable frequency drives or similar automation equipment. Experience working within the mining, oil & gas, heavy industry, or similar industrial sectors. High level of motivation and tenacity with a willingness to occasionally work with flexible hours. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
