Job Title: Sales Manager MDD
Reports To: Vice President MDD
Location: Home/office based in Germany (with regular travel to Bio-Techne regional offices and customer sites within region as/when required)
No. of Direct Reports: 8 (Germany, Italy, Benelux, France and Spain)
Position Objective:
As a Regional Sales Manager, you will represent and lead the MDD Bio-Techne sales team across Germany, Italy, Benelux, France and Spain with expansion into the UK and Poland.
You will primarily be responsible for building a collaborative and high performing commercially focused sales team that is driving double digit growth within the Molecular Diagnostic Business throughout the region for the Bio-Techne/Asuragen business.
You will spend 80% of your time directly engaged with customer focused activities and engagements that are directly attributable to sales growth and market penetration within your region.
Essential Duties:
Lead and develop your sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Implement and champion lead metrics that give clarity of the required actions that correlate to sales growth
Champion a strong communication and customer focused mindset by spending a significant amount of time on customer engagements with your team to understand business opportunities and team development needs
Champion account management and real-time territory planning to enable effective and productive account plans that support business and brand revenue objectives
Support the corporate product manager plans and translate into regional specific plans that your sales team understand and action at a territory level
Lead your team to uncover and share relevant and timely insights on markets, customers and competitors to enable an agile sales and marketing function
Conduct regular and formal 1-2-1 reviews with your teams to understand their progress against plan, hopper status and personal development progress
Facilitate regular team meetings and lead team discussions to drive focused engagement and foster an environment where giving and receiving feedback is expected
Regularly review and analyze aggregate account data and information and feedback regional insights to the organization and your key stakeholders
Support the corporate processes within our annual cycle including but not limited to, strategic planning, prioritization and HR Talent and performance reviews
Manage assigned regional budgets
Travel to attend internal meetings and visit customer locations; ~70% travel.
Responsibilities
Responsible for achievement of regional sales budget
Building and implementing sales processes focused on driving revenue growth
Able to articulate forecasting projections
Able to talk fluently with senior level customers about the Bio-Techne organization and to identify opportunities for greater collaboration and growth within key strategic accounts
Responsible for the engagement and work assignment of the sales team within the region
Ensuring compliance and buy-in of SFDC to drive disciplined and structured approaches to all aspects of CRM and opportunity management recording
Clearly understand and articulate the development needs of your team and manage their progression through the sales competency model to increase their effectiveness in their current role and to create effective succession plans
Own the role of performance management within the team
Champion and own team compliance to Bio-Techne code of ethics
Foster a culture that embraces EPIC and the principle of change as a necessity for success
