Sales Manager - MICE | Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

A Sales Manager – MICE is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing key accounts in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) segments. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of sales strategies in line with the hotel’s luxury standards.

What will I be doing

\n

The Sales Manager – MICE role requires a strategic approach to sales, market analysis, competitor activity to recommend strategies that keep the hotel a leader in the marketplace through the development of future and repeat business and customer engagement to position the hotel as a preferred destination for MICE business. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nProactively identify, qualify, and secure new MICE business opportunities for the hotel.\nDevelop and nurture relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, destination management companies (DMCs), and professional conference organizers (PCOs).\nConduct regular client meetings, sales calls, hotel site inspections, and presentations to promote the hotel’s MICE facilities and services.\nRepresent the hotel at MICE-related trade shows, networking functions, industry events, and roadshows, both locally and internationally.\nPrepare and negotiate tailored proposals and contracts in alignment with client needs and hotel profitability goals.\nCollaborate closely with internal departments such as Events, Revenue, and Operations to ensure seamless execution of conferences, meetings, and group stays.\nProvide expert advice and bespoke service to clients throughout the planning and execution stages to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and repeat business.\nMonitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging client needs to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.\nWork with the Revenue Management team to implement optimal group pricing, forecasting, and yield strategies specific to the MICE market.\nConsistently meet or exceed personal and departmental sales targets and KPIs.\nMaintain accurate records, client profiles, and reports through the hotel’s CRM system.\nPrepare regular sales performance reports and contribute insights for strategic planning.\n

\n\nMinimum 3–5 years of experience in sales within a luxury hotel, resort, or destination management company, with a strong specialization in the MICE segment.\nProven track record of securing and managing high-value MICE accounts, consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets.\nDeep understanding of the MICE industry landscape, including relationships with corporate clients, professional conference organizers, incentive houses, and destination management companies, both locally and internationally.\nStrong commercial awareness and strategic insight into market trends, event cycles, and competitor activity within the luxury meetings and events space.\nDemonstrated ability to manage complex group bookings and events from acquisition to execution, ensuring seamless coordination and client satisfaction.\nExceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple large-scale events and client relationships simultaneously.\nCreative mindset with the ability to tailor proposals and event solutions to meet unique client needs while maximizing profitability.\nFormal education or professional certifications in Sales, Hospitality Management, or Event Planning are advantageous.\nStrong negotiation and contract management skills, with a firm understanding of luxury service standards and pricing strategies.\nResilience and poise under pressure, with a calm and solutions-focused approach to high-stakes and fast-paced scenarios.\nOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with C-level executives, planners, and stakeholders.\nPassion for excellence, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering elevated service and unforgettable guest experiences.\n\n
