1. SUMMARY. Manages sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Learn Company's broad product range and world-wide capabilities effectively in order to be able to promote and successfully sell Company's productsindependently, and with support, in the territory. Learn and report on the important customs and marketsfor Company's productsin the territory. Build relationships with "key staff" at major customers and potential customers that assist Company in our business expansion efforts. Professionally promote Company's productsto targeted accounts within the territory, with consistent and reliable "follow-up" resulting in increased sales revenue for Company. Follow up on any and all sales leads provided for the territory. Learn the relationship between Company and manufacturer's Representatives(if applicable) and use it to maximize Company's coverage and penetration of the territory. Prepare and issue, in a timely manner, concise and detailed Activity Reports, Visit Reports and Monthly Reports asrequested by management. Develops plansto increase salesin assigned territory and/or accounts. Responsible for making every effort to achieve sales goal established for assigned territory and/or accounts. Directsstaffing, training, and performance evaluationsto develop and controlsales program. Coordinatessales distribution by establishing salesterritories, quotas, and goals, and advises representatives, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques. Selects,trains, manages and, if needed, terminatessalesrepresentative organizations. In addition, may negotiate with representative organization for exclusion of certain accounts from their territory and reduction of commission on low-profit business. Assignssalesterritory and/or accountsto sales personnel in specified territory. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist representatives/distributors in promoting sales. Reviews Market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company. Directs productsimplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable itemsfrom salesline. Provides program management of OEM products including continuous cost reduction. Acts as coordinatorforthe organization in preparing professional presentations ofthe company's profitability. Negotiates price acceptance with manufacturing. Represents company attrade associationmeeting and trade showsto promote products. Coordinates liaison between the sales department and other sales related units. Acts as liaison between customer and manufacturing during development phases of custom products. Obtains as much information regarding customer's activities and potential business and prepares and submits applicable reports of this information in a timely manner to the Vice President of Sales. Exchanges sales activity information on selected accounts with other Company sales offices. Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform the budgetary requirements. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES. Directly supervises 10 - 20 employees in the Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
