We are expanding our Sales Planning Team within our Consumer Brands Business and are looking to hire several Sales Planning Managers. These positions will focus on developing effective sales strategies, managing trade budgets, creating merchandise and volume forecasts, and planning new item launches. The Sales Planning Managers will play a key role in equipping the sales team with the necessary tools to excel in the market, ensuring optimal merchandising, pricing, distribution, and shelving that drive profitable growth and help the company meet its financial goals. These roles require strong collaboration with both the sales and marketing teams, while championing the needs of the store customer through category and consumer insights, trade strategies, and accurate forecasting.
Responsibilities:
Drive the annual merchandising depth and frequency planning process.Provide monthly updates on sales performance and marketing trends, utilizing data analytics toolsParticipate in monthly demand and supply reviewsManage brand-specific strategy to ensure delivery of KPI’s (annual volume, trade, & profit plan)Plan trade budgets and monitors spend rates to balance to zero.Establish budgets, objectives, establish an approval process including ROI review.Assess results after the fact to determine impact and effectiveness of trade and customer marketing programs.Work with the marketing team to develop customer specific launch plan including MSRP guidance, trade depth and frequency plan, shopper marketing integration, distribution targets, etcAdvocate and represent customer point of view amongst internal teams. Share the voice of the customer and integrated Brand strategies with internal brand teams through customer business plansManage and prioritize brand specific projects to support the customer team with distribution and merchandising targets. Create new product sales tool kits to ensure successful new product launches.Partner with analytics team to create market-based sales tools based on syndicated data as well as consumer insights to provide selling tools to improve in market execution.Develop compelling sales materials to be used by field sales team and occasionally join sales calls to influence customersProvide consumption insights to National Account Managers and Sales Directors. Provide analysis and insights that are mutually profitable and identify opportunities by turning sales data into actionable insightsCollaborate with sales & marketing to align sales strategies and activations Partner with Demand Planning to revise forecast based on retail sales performance trendsIdentify opportunities and revise projections to bring recommendations to leadershipHelp determine with analytics where to play, how to win, and the right GOTM strategy.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5+ years’ experience involving managing strategic and tactical trade plans.Project management experience.P&L management exposure.Involvement in customer annual planning process.Experience with retailer practices.Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or MastersExperience with analytics including financial analytics preferred.Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $81,000 – $135,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
