Sales Representative, MDI

This is a remote field position to be home office based in Charlotte, NC, with some flexibility to consider other locations in the Northeast region. 

As a Sales Representative II on our Merchant’s Distributors, Inc. (MDI) sales team, reporting to a Senior Sales Director, you will call on the customer account to develop relationships and achieve maximum product sales for a portfolio of brands across our Refrigerated and Snacks segments.  This is a great opportunity if you have experience doing the headquarter sales call or if you are looking to take this next step in your CPG sales career.

Your Impact:

Introduce new items, quote prices, credit terms, delivery dates and prepare sales contracts and sales reports.Represent, merchandise, and sell desired mix of products in retail stores within identified accounts.Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals for specific merchandising and store shelving activities.Manage trade spending for identified accounts for in-store merchandising, advertising and implement category management plans.Deliver assigned sale and margin targets.Communicate all customer and brand pricing notifications.Implement assortment, pricing and promotion plan to deliver agreed upon goals.Ensure all new product authorizations and core extensions are positioned on retail shelf with appropriate timing, space, facings and targeted location.Prepare information/project tracking reports.Communicate with your supervisor on marketplace activities, issues, and opportunities.Work with direct guidance from manager as it relates to business planning and customer strategy.Implement business strategies; may have a role in developing strategy.Customer accountability may range from partial accountability for one or two large accounts to full accountability for multiple small accounts.

Your Experience:

Bachelor's degree required1+ years of related consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience.Sales planning and sales execution experience required.Negotiation skills.Can interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.
