Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Sales Representative at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling flat-rolled metal products to industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Summary of Responsibilities

Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone, e-mail and in-person to qualify leads and sell products and services.Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.Estimates date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.Builds and maintains customers’ relationships.Prepares reports of business transactions.Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.Travels to and attends trade shows.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED.Previous supervisor experienceProficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)Excellent customer oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-makingCollaborative; builds and works with teamsAbility to coach and mentorPre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
