Location: Field Based, Italy

Position Summary:

Simple Western systems are Bio-Techne’s innovative automated Western systems, including the instruments Abby, Jess, Wes, PeggySue and Leo; and also the Milo Single-Cell Western System and also our range of gel and blot Imaging systems and Biologics including Maurice technology and MFI.

This is a field-based sales position responsible for a territory comprising all of Italy. The ideal candidate will have capital equipment sales experience, a life science background and reside in Italy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for sales of Bio-Techne’s Simple Western Instruments plus Biologicals, consumables and service contracts. Simple Western systems are widely used in Academic, Pharma, Biotech, Academic Hospital, Government and other institutions, and so a broad range of instrument sales experience is desired. Day to day responsibilities will involve planning regular travel to customer accounts in territory, effective follow up of sales leads, efficient management of the sales pipeline and prompt closure of instrument system, service and consumable sales opportunities. Other duties will involve working closely with colleagues in other Bio-Techne sales teams, reporting back on on-going market conditions and occasionally supporting marketing at key exhibitions and conferences.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

At least 3 Years proven experience in capital equipment sales to the Life Sciences research sector with either experience in sales of disruptive new technologies to pharma, biotech and academic customers.

Minimum of a Bachelor level degree in a relevant scientific discipline. A research background with higher degree (MSc or PhD) is an advantage.

Fluent English and Italian languages required.  Other languages are an advantage

Skills required/desired:

Experience selling instrumentation to pharma, biotech or academic customers.

General business skills such as negotiation, strong organizational skills, problem solving and fact-based decision making. Demonstrable experience in addressing the Pharmaceutical and Biotech market in this region will be an advantage.

Highly motivated with demonstrative interpersonal, presentation & organizational skills. Energetic, enthusiastic and hungry for success

Able to work with a high degree of independence. A “self-starter”.

Proficient in English and Italian, with demonstrably excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Strong interpersonal interaction skills and demonstrable ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the Bio-Techne organisation.

Strong customer relationship skills. Skilled in anticipating and resolving issues

Excellent attention to detail, time management and process management

Strong interpersonal interaction skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues

Proficient in the use of computer applications and software. Familiarity with MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM system advantageous.

Able to perform a wide variety of tasks and multi-task efficiently plus excel in working in a fast-paced environment.
