**Sales Support Engineer (Polymers)** Engineering Los Angeles , CA, US + Added - 19/06/2025 Apply for Job **Position Summary** The Sales Support Engineer (Polymers) serves as a key technical advisor supporting both internal sales teams and external customers, specifically within the field of polymer science. While not a traditional sales role, this position focuses on answering customer inquiries, providing technical expertise, and supporting audits, product applications, and improvements. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in polymer engineering or material science looking for a customer-facing, problem-solving role without bench or manufacturing work. **Location: Los Angeles, CA** **Job Type:** **Full-Time | Hybrid after initial onsite training** **Pay:** **$90,000 -110,000** **Primary Responsibilities** + Respond to customer inquiries with expert advice on improving product performance, particularly in polymer processing and materials. + Support customer audits by addressing technical questions and ensuring product compliance. + Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including feasibility evaluations, application guidance, product demonstrations, and troubleshooting. + Serve as a technical liaison, translating complex polymer and product data for non-technical stakeholders. + Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer challenges and deliver actionable technical solutions. + Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, innovation, regulatory, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and fulfill customer requests. + Prepare and present technical documentation, white papers, feasibility studies, and customer reports. + Provide feedback to product and R&D teams on recurring customer challenges and suggestions for future improvements. + Stay updated on internal product lines, emerging polymer technologies, and customer applications. + Manage assigned technical projects, ensuring timely and accurate communication across all stakeholders. **Qualifications** **Education & Experience** + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. + 0–3+ years of experience in technical support, polymer processing, or plastic manufacturing environments. **Required Skills** + Solid understanding of polymer materials, chemistry, and processing (e.g., extrusion, injection molding, sealing, bonding, blending). + Experience in plastic manufacturing environments strongly preferred. + Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving abilities. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. + Customer-first mindset with proven project management and organizational skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus.This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
