Lead Legal Counsel for Electrification Businessl Australia and NZ
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to implement sales support strategy for the designated area in line with the global support strategy with specific technical capability and focus on contract and risks management. Each day, you will ensure consistent management of all proposals and contracts including sales policies, sales campaigns, and sales agency agreements. You will also showcase your expertise by serving as a primary organizational contact during contract negotiations.The work model for the role is hybrid #LI-Hybrid. This role can be based in QLD, NSW, VIC or WA.This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Area in Australia. Main stakeholders are Lead Legal Counsel, Business Leaders, Sales Teams, Customers, Suppliers, and Subcontractors.You will be mainly accountable for:•Prepare, review, respond to contract terms and conditions tenders and RFQs. Redlining and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors with the supervision of Senior Legal Counsel.•Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with Legal & Integrity and ABB policy requirements. Work closely with internal sales and account teams, including legal, finance, and project management, to ensure alignment and effective contract execution.•Ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments. Maintain accurate contract records and documentation. •Identify opportunities for process improvements in contract management practices and implement best practices.
Qualifications for the roleYou are highly skilled in contract negotiations and management and hold current professional certifications in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM).You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in contract negotiations and management, preferably in the engineering or technology industry.You are highly adept in contract law and commercial terms, skilled in contract relining and able to handle multiple contracts and priorities concurrently. Have established skills in Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel.You are innovative around negotiations and have outstanding communication skills. You have an proactive approach to contract administration, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related field
