Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Sales Tax Administrator to help clean up and streamline their sales tax processes. This role is critical to ensuring the organization maintains compliance with all state and local sales tax regulations while improving the efficiency of tax-related activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in reworking internal processes, conducting necessary tax research, preparing and filing returns, and providing audit support. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with state and local sales tax regulations, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of all sales tax returns.Lead the initiative to review and improve the organization's current sales tax processes, ensuring they are more efficient, accurate, and streamlined.Continuously monitor and research changes in sales tax laws, making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance with any new legislation or regulations.Ensure accurate, complete, and organized records of all sales tax filings, payments, and communications.Prepare and present detailed sales tax reports for senior management, including key findings, issues, and suggestions for process improvements.Proactively identify areas of the sales tax process that can be enhanced or automated to increase accuracy, reduce manual work, and improve overall compliance efficiency.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales tax administration or a similar role, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and ensure compliance.Skills:In-depth knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations.Proven ability to research complex tax issues and resolve discrepancies.High proficiency with accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvements.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with internal teams and external tax authorities.Additional Information:
