As one of the world’s largest lift truck manufacturers, we are committed to providing the customer with the safest, most efficient and ergonomic lift truck possible to lower their total cost of ownership. **Job Responsibilities:** + _Tax Returns and Related Schedules / Account Reconciliations -_ Organize sales and use tax information for multiple legal entities, assuring the accuracy from various sources used for sales and use tax compliance. Prepare, file and process payments for various state and local sales and use tax returns and reconciliations of sales tax general ledger accounts. + _Internal Help Desk Activities Regarding Sales and Use Tax Systems -_ Advise branch, manufacturing, and credit and collections personnel in resolving day to day questions, including those relating to exemption certificate acceptance and application, sales tax computations, determining the validity of customer short-paid sales tax and instructing branch on the appropriate method of correction. Research and resolve complex customer tax disputes requiring investigation to define the issue, researching tax law to support the Company’s position on the issue and provide clear communication of the resolution to management, branch personnel and credit and collections. Determine the appropriate taxability of purchases made by company branch and manufacturing segments. + _Tax Report Integrity Review -_ Prepare and analyze various error reports. Investigate what occurred, communicate the appropriate correction to the branch and credit and collections, and maintain correspondence with branch to ensure corrections are completed. + _Sales and Use Tax Training and Awarenes_ s -Prepare training documentation to be delivered to various departments such as branch personnel, accounts payable, credit and collections specialists, and purchasing,at the direction of Tax Supervisor and/or Tax Manager. Develop and document the Company’s sales and use tax branch procedures and policies for onboard new facilities and personnel. + _Prepare Sales Tax Licenses – New and Renewal -_ Prepare and file sales tax licenses, both for new license requirements identified and renewals. File, process payments and update tracking spreadsheets. Identify potential sales tax license requirements and discuss applicability with management. + _Maintenance of Sales Tax Calculation Applications -_ Manage, update, and maintain computer software applications that calculate and report sales tax on company invoices throughout the United States, that include a suite of Vertex software and other databases. This encompasses all subsequent changes related to customers, products, services, and state and local tax law changes. + _Miscellaneous -_ Prepare supporting schedules and research for various governmental tax audits, under direction of management. Support management in the analysis and draft documentation of sales tax law for impact on sales tax planning and the Company’s current business procedures. Perform other tasks as assigned. **Minimum Job Qualifications:** + Less than 2 years related experience + Bachelor’s degree (Accounting) + Onsite + Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 40 hours / week, Monday through Friday **Preferred Job Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree, along with two to four years of experience in a corporate tax department or tax area of a public accounting firm is preferred. + Experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm will be considered. Advanced degree or CPA a plus. + Should have knowledge of Vertex O and Vertex Returns Software, along with Lotus Notes Exemption Certificate Database. + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data base software to perform computation and data mining and manipulation. + Knowledge of SAP and Lotus Notes software. + Must have solid organizational, analytical and prioritization skills. Good attention to detail and communication skills are necessary. Must be a team player and have the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and be able to prioritize in a due date drive position. **Work Authorization:** Crown will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
