About Go-To-Market Team:

The Business Technology Go-To-Market team works in close partnership with our business partners to help fuel growth and revenue goals for Workday, along with driving exceptional Customer and employee experiences. The team is responsible for developing and supporting innovative architecture-led solutions for our Marketing, Sales, Services, Customer Support & Legal business functions with Salesforce being the primary platform alongside other cutting edge platforms like SnapLogic for Integrations, Conga/Apttus for CPQ, CLM, AWS as PaaS, Coveo Search Platform, OKTA for SSO and others

Our Go-To-Market (GTM) Enterprise Applications team is currently looking for a Release Engineer - Salesforce Platform

About the Role

Responsibilities:

Implement security protocols, including encryption, access control, and logging, to safeguard Salesforce data.

Ensure that code changes are efficiently built, tested, and deployed with minimal human intervention.

Ensure that all deployments comply with security and regulatory standards.

Ensure proper branching and merging strategies to enable smooth releases and hotfixes.

Implement and manage version control strategies using tools like Git or Bitbucket for tracking code changes.

Monitor and manage code repositories, ensuring proper versioning of Salesforce metadata and configurations.

Implement and manage version control strategies using tools like Git or Bitbucket for tracking code changes.

Set up and monitor logging and performance monitoring tools to identify issues early in the development and deployment process.

Roll out the change control process for development, where quality is ensured and aligned to the organization’s SDLC process while still operating in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Set up, monitor and maintain all Salesforce.com sandboxes, including creating and synchronizing sandbox metadata and appropriate data sets.

Manage release schedule and key release milestones across all Salesforce development projects, ensuring easy and timely deployments across environments.

Set and manage consistent deployment schedules, accounting for any dependencies and risks along the way while identifying issues to ensure they are not repeated.

Perform environment planning, provisioning, and management required to support the releases.

Develops and maintains documentation of the build/release process.

Define release readiness criteria and ensure all changes meet criteria prior to deployment.

Work with developers to properly resolve conflicts, deployment errors and meet code coverage.

Defined KPIs to track release metrics and drive improvements.

Automate whenever possible, optimizing efficiency and quality of delivery, including managing external resources to implement automation tools.

Provide oversight for deployment of releases into various environments through ensuring release readiness and adequate deployment run list handoffs.

Proactively identify and mitigate risks and remove obstacles to release. Plan, manage, and socialize all release engineering activities.

Continually work towards making improvements in the build/release process.

Command the code branching architecture branching, merging, rollback plans, etc.

Communicate plans and status, and escalate issues as required.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent in experience).

4+ years’ experience in CI/CD implementation & rollouts

2+ years’ Experience in Salesforce platform (Configuration or Development) along with understanding of integration to/from Salesforce

2+ years’ experience in automation of repeated tasks and improving efficiency

Experience on an Agile Scrum project delivered under Continuous Delivery / DevOps is preferred.

Salesforce Release Tool certification (Copado/ Flosum) (Preferred)

 

 Other Qualifications: 

Self-motivated, flexible, team player with solid multi-tasking, time management & organization expertise with the ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities. 

 

Professional Certifications:

Salesforce.com Platform Developer - 1 (Preferred)

Salesforce Certified App Builder / Salesforce Certified Administrator (Preferred)
