The Role: We are seeking a Saltwater Sampling Technician to join our Marine Health and Operations Team based out of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick. Support regular monthly weight sampling on Marine Farms, requiring to travel to various locations as needed. Reporting to the Marine Health and Operations Specialist. Primary Responsibilities include (but not limited to): + Operate and maintain sophisticated electronic sampling equipment such as Biomass scanners. + Support training of site crews on sampling, methods, maintenance, and use of sample equipment. + Arrange sample schedule with site managers and ensure samples get completed accurately and in a timely fashion. + Process and analyze sample data to ensure the quality of the samples and forward the information to the appropriate people. + Perform biosecurity audits on harvest vessels as required. + Assist Fish Health team as required. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: + Be professional, friendly, possess good communication skills, be able to remain calm under pressure and handle confidential information with discretion. + A willingness to learn. + A team player with the ability to exercise sound judgment and flexibility. Working Conditions: + Outside marine environment and office environment + Travel to other locations may be required. + Minimal Supervision.
