Job Description
As a Sample Control Technician, you will be responsible for receiving and inspecting samples to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria and documentation requirements. You will log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), label the samples, and scan them into the designated storage areas. Effective communication with the laboratory and project management departments regarding sample availability or issues is crucial.
ResponsibilitiesReceive and inspect samples for compliance with acceptance criteria and documentation requirements.Login samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Label samples and scan them into designated storage areas.Communicate with laboratory and project management departments about sample availability or issues.Perform physical activities such as standing, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.Handle tasks requiring vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Occasionally lift and/or move items exceeding 25 pounds.Essential SkillsExperience with sample preparation, data entry, and laboratory operations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sample control techniques.Strong quality control skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a science-related field.Previous experience as a sample control technician or similar role in a laboratory setting is preferred.Proficient data entry and computer skills.Willingness to work a flexible schedule.Work Environment
The position is based in a laboratory environment, operating on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The dress code is business casual with closed-toe shoes. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, high heat, and potentially hazardous laboratory materials. The noise level can vary from moderate to extremely loud. The role may require work that exceeds 40 hours per week, with flexibility to start shifts earlier or end later on short notice.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
