Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.
+ Full time position based in Dandenong South, VIC.
+ Shift times either Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm or Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10pm available.
+ An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Sample Management Officer is responsible for the collection, receipt and registration of customer samples and preparation of sample portions for testing.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Ensure 'water samples' cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
+ Ensure 'soil samples' cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
+ Ensure 'hold samples' cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
+ Disposal of samples.
+ Receive and register samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
+ Perform sample splitting and preparation of sample portions for testing.
+ General housekeeping duties and sample disposal.
+ Organise and follow up courier pick-ups and sample logistics.
+ Ad-hoc sample collection in the Dandenong region.
+ Communicate clearly with customers and laboratory staff.
+ Conform with Safety and Quality requirements at all times.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will obtain the following:
+ Engineering or Science qualifications and/or university master's level qualification will be an advantage.
+ Good computer literacy and knowledge of standard Microsoft office applications.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ General preference and comfort in technical environments.
+ Ability to perform frequent lifting and carrying of goods up to 10 kg.
+ Hold a current full Victorian Drivers License.
+ Flexible, motivated, with great work ethics.
