Job Description The Sample Management Technician performs a role within the quality control area which oversees handling samples from the arrival at the laboratory up to its disposition. Is responsible f organizing and maintaining the current organization of samples, freezer, refrigerators and cold rooms, maintaining and assuring sample integrity. Will manage laboratory systems and other tools as required. In addition, will handle multiple priorities and deliver tasks/projects in a timely manner. Responsibilities + Prepare all required documentation for sample shipments to Out Site labs (Pre-shipments). + Organize of sample inventory and verification of all required documentation, ensuring compliance with local procedures and regulatory requirements. This will include the handling of materials used within the sample management program (samples in the long-term storage (reserve), in process samples and reference standards use for testing). + Identify areas of improvements in procedures vs practices and align accordingly. + Perform “5S” audits and internal audits in the laboratory, recognizing areas for improvement and making sure the laboratory complies in every moment. + Documentation of required forms to retrieve equipment from the alarm reporting system, thus accelerating the process of the equipment repairs. + Receive and stored laboratory materials following EHS recommendations and regulations of EPA. + Organize and maintain the laboratory freezers, refrigerators, and incubators. Responsible for the reconciliation of samples to be discarded following company procedures. Acquire new skills, knowledge and/or behaviors that help develop operational performance. + Management and verification of sample logbooks ensuring the traceability of the samples used. + Maintain the integrity and preservation of the samples, always handling them in the corresponding storage condition until analysis execution as indicated by company procedures. + Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EHS) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties. Significant Work Activities + Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required. + Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required + Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required + Routine work with chemicals + Repeated bending, stooping, squatting or kneeling is required + Exposure to temps below 60 degrees Fahrenheit/16 degrees Celsius on a regular basis is required Qualifications + High School Diploma. Associate Degree in science preferred. + Two (2) years of experience in similar role in Bio-Pharma industry preferred. + Good verbal and written communication skills, English and Spanish. + Be able to move material, lift to 30lb. + Long periods of time standing (up to 8 hours or more). + Manage request projects with minimum supervision. + Computer knowledge such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc. + Must possess and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple tasks working under minimal supervision. + Great attention to detail. + LIMS System experience is preferred. + Availability to work Second Shift, weekends, overtime & holidays according to business need. Key Stakeholders Manufacturing, Warehouse, Incoming (IQA) and Supplier Quality (SQA).
