While reporting directly to the Sample Supervisor, the following job description outlines the essential functions of each level of role within the tooling department.  The following lists are not exhaustive, and the employee in each of these roles is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Manually cut raw material to prep for sample thermoformingOrder raw material using ERP systemOperate clicker press to trim samples, manually trim if necessaryComputer usage with file processing, email, Web scheduling, and MS officeWork within a team environmentMaintain safe, clean, and organized work areaOther duties as assigned and necessary – inside or outside of sample department – within capabilities of the employeeProficiently polish molds and plugs to production standardsDeburr and break all sharp edges of partsDrill tiny vacuum holes in moldsOperate bead blaster machine to put a production-level finish on molds

High School or equivalent, vocational or journeyman+ preferredAbility to read/write and follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to read, understand and work from blueprints, sketches, and work ordersFundamental skills as machinist in metal fabrication, tool making, and mold constructionUnderstanding of tolerances and precision measuring Basic computer experiences with file processing, email, Web navigation, and MS officeMust have a working knowledge of shop math and general hand toolsPerform all tasks in a safety-conscious mannerHealthy attitude to work within a team environment
