Department OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced Storage Administrator + Cloud Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and ensuring the efficiency of storage solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments. This role involves overseeing the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of storage infrastructure, as well as managing cloud-based storage and resources to meet the organizational needs for data accessibility, security, and redundancy.
Job Description**Job Overview**:
The SAN Storage Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of our Storage Area Network (SAN). The candidate will ensure high performance, data protection, and scalability to meet the organization's current and future data storage needs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Install, configure, and maintain SAN hardware and software solutions.
Monitor performance of storage systems to ensure efficient operation and identify any issues proactively.
Implement and oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and data redundancy strategies.
Perform regular capacity planning and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
Manage and monitor data replication and synchronization across multiple sites.
Ensure data integrity by implementing access controls and regular data validation processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAN storage, including performance bottlenecks and hardware failures.
Keep firmware and software patches up-to-date and apply updates in a timely and secure manner.
Document SAN configurations, changes, and procedures for both routine maintenance and emergency response.
Collaborate with network administrators, systems administrators, and other IT staff to ensure smooth integration of SAN with other systems.
Provide technical support and training to IT staff and end-users as needed.
Negotiate with vendors for support contracts, maintenance, and procurement of new storage hardware and software.
Stay current with emerging storage technologies and industry best practices.
**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing enterprise storage environments, including SAN and NAS.
Strong understanding of SAN technologies, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCoE.
Experience with SAN management tools and software.
Knowledge of multiple operating systems, virtualization platforms, and storage protocols.
Familiarity with data backup and recovery solutions as well as disaster recovery planning.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications from SAN vendors (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, IBM, HPE) are preferred.
