Summary
This individual will prep heavy equipment and parts for paint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces, per specifications, prior to paintingClean all surfaces to ensure proper adherenceCover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protectionFill cracks, holes, and joints per specificationsErect scaffolding, movable, and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areasWork on ladders to reach top of tall equipmentTape off areas when neededClean up all equipmentRequired Skills and Qualifications
Must be able to troubleshoot problemsCandidate must work well with othersRequires strong attention to detail in department processes and proceduresRequires the ability to comprehend and follow written work instructionsPossess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metalsStrong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Two plus years of related automotive or vocational truck operation and maintenance experienceStrong communication skillsProven commitment to SafetyWorking Conditions
Majority of work is performed in a shop and outsideMust be able to work while exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or other fumesMust be able to work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout a 10-hour day, and up to 50 hours per weekMust be able to safely operate carts, forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment of such natureAbility to walk and stand on concrete and/or uneven surfaces for at least 10 hours per day
