Summary You will serve as a SANITARIAN of NAVY-MARINE CORPS PUB HLTH CEN. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense. Responsibilities You will assess and review environmental health standards for Navy Medicine environmental health programs. You will provide subject matter expertise for policy development and policy updates supported by current requirements and scientific research. You will advise and consult with DON activities and other organizations on technical aspects of environmental health standards. You will prepare routine correspondence, manuals, instructions, fact sheets, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and other risk communication products. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience at Master's level or higher in environmental health, sanitation, and hygiene. Experience with governing laws, Department of Defense, and Department of Navy regulations or instructions on topics related to environmental health, sanitation, and hygiene. Experience applying knowledge and applicable laws/regulations to ensure successful program management of Navy-wide sanitation and hygiene programs. Experience communicating and collaborating with team of multidisciplinary public health experts.
