Overview Starting Wage: $27.09/hr Shift: 8:00am - 8:00pm (Friday - Sunday) Great things are happening at the Sister Schubert’s Horse Cave Campus and as we continue to grow the T. Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world class operational excellence. The position of Sanitor – Lead is responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the plant and all production machinery and equipment daily to ensure the entire plant is kept in a sanitized, clean, and organized condition. Coordinates daily tasks for other Sanitors and provides training as necessary. Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility. If required for assigned tasks, successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards. As required, performs daily inspection of any applicable power equipment with proper documentation. As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving. Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI). Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary. Ensures completion of Sanitation responsibilities daily Correctly washes and sanitizes all processing equipment, pumps, blenders and transfer lines or machine blocks, hoppers, feed tubes & hoses Cleans entire processing work station including tables, conveyor chains, floors, walls, air filter hoses and dust collectors, drop cards, air and electric drops, check weighs, scales and wall mounted items such as fire extinguishers, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers. Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes all filling equipment including but not limited to hoppers, feed tubes, vibrator feeders, drop tubes, filler hoppers, augers. Properly operates CIP sanitizing equipment. Cleans debris and refuse from interior & exterior of plant and empties and cleans all trash receptacles in plant. Washes plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas. Occasionally operates forklift and pallet jackets following successful attainment of TMHC forklift certification. Bales residual corrugated and stacks pallet and barrels from current and previous shifts. Cleans all restroom facilities. Washes all floors by using floor scrubbers, vacuums, air hoses and mops. Adheres to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout Procedures. Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures. Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Management Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records. Lead Specific Functions: All documentation/reporting for the Sanitation department Coordinate & follow Master Sanitize Schedule daily. Assigning tasks & equipment to Sanitors on a daily basis and ensures completion of all requirements for shift. Coordinates with other shifts & departments on all aspects of safety, quality, receiving, processing, packaging, shipping, sanitation, and maintenance. Provides support for the Sanitation Supervisor/Manager in maintaining continuous production. Reports any issues to Management immediately. Fills in for Supervisor when necessary. Qualifications 1-2 years industrial environment experience with sanitizing chemical usage & handling. Mechanical aptitude with experience in machine operator, minor break-down & reassembly required, experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred. Prior Leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred. Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors. Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 75 pounds short distances. Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member.
