Hours: Monday- Friday 6pm-2:30am

Job Description

· Clean and sanitize processing area and equipment, following guidelines of U.S.D.A. during evening shift.

· Disassemble, handle, and reassemble equipment in a manner that maintains the conditions and food safety of the equipment at all times.

· Ensure that cleaning chemical concentrations, cleaning times, temperatures and flows meet personal safety, food safety and cleaning standards

· Follow all sanitation, general plant, area-specific and equipment specific safe practices and GMP standards

· Safely and efficiently operate Clean In Place and Clean Out of Place systems

· Complete all documentation, communication and record-keeping requirements accurately, on time and in a professional manner

· Inspect sanitation work and follow up as appropriate to ensure that all operating and sanitation standards have been met to ensure a safe and effective on-time start of plant processing and equipment.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

The ability to be organized, self-motivated, work as a team in a fast paced work environmentThe ability to understand and execute Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) and best practices safely, consistently and effectivelyPrevious experience in a food manufacturing sanitation role is preferred

Physical demands of the job: During an 8-10 hour night shift , the employee will perform the following on a frequent to constant basis:

WalkingBending, twistingPushing, pullingReachingOverhead workClimbingCarrying, both bilateral and unilateralRepetitive motion: using upper extremities to wipe, scrub, scrape, sweep, mop etc.KneelCrouch or squat as specific work assignments require.

Also required:

Tolerance / ability to work at heights on ladders and scissors lifts in order to clean ceiling tiles, pipes, and the tops of large sections of equipment.Scissors lifts: from a few feet off the ground to ceiling height, up to 30 feetEquipment used: mops, buckets, rags, scrub brushes, hoses, power washer, scrapers, air hoses, pallet jack, etc.'

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required

Preferred Experience: Cleaning or chemical sanitation experience/training or equivalent.

Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.Able to understand and follow Chemical & Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and policies, once trained.Communicate with peers, subordinates, and leaders in an effective, timely manner.Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related-problems.Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers.Ability to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Additional Information

The starting rate for this role is $17.00  (Hourly). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. Travel may be required.
