Sanitation Installation Specialist II or III

Overview Transports and operates heavy equipment to install water and sanitation facilities. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT At least four (4) years experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS None required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must have a commercial driver's license (Class A) with tanker endorsement. Prefer a Class D water and wastewater license, and/or blasting certification. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must have knowledge of heavy equipment operation, septic system regulations, water well and system regulations, and be familiar with the use of transit. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
