Job Summary:

The Sanitation Lead at Butterball LLC in Ozark, Arkansas, is responsible for overseeing the sanitation crew and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. This role involves planning and organizing sanitation processes, maintaining cleaning schedules, conducting inspections, and reporting food safety issues. The position is crucial for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

Organize, and monitor plant sanitation crew, processes, and methods.Help supervisors to maintain the plant Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Plant Improvement Plan (PIP), and Environmental Swabbing Program.Seek constant improvement of sanitation processes.Conduct periodic plant inspections and audits.Report any food safety issues.Perform other tasks as assigned.Completes sanitation logs and oversees labeling of sanitation containers.  Communicates with other departments on pre-ops, changeovers, activities, and equipment repair requests.  Plans daily and weekly crewing levels and monitors employee attendance.  Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed and the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance are promoted.  Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). 

 

Requirements

High school diploma or GEDAbility to work overtime, irregular hours, or rotating shifts, required. 3 years related experienceExperience with Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and proceduresExperience with HACCP PlansUnderstanding of government regulations (FDA, USDA)Understanding of Clean In Place (CIP) and Clean Out Place (COP) systemsFamiliar with Fundamentals of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)Read, write and speak fluent EnglishLarge organization/corporate experience

 

Skills

Ability to do heavy lifting in a fast-paced production environment.  Ability to do basic math and use calculators. Read and interpret documents such as safety documents, operating instructions, and manuals.  Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Working Conditions:    

Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.Position requires working around processing plant equipment.Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.Ability to lift up to 80lbs.There is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.

 Pay is base plus $1.05 job premium
